Oldham Theatre Workshop sought to retell Shakespeare's perhaps most blood thirsty play. Amidst the history of the waring factions in Scotland sit themes and ideals that are just as relevant to a contemporary audience.
Oldham Theatre Workshop and Mal Smith joined forces after the success of animal farm, turning Macbeth into a fantastic piece of Artaudian total theatre. Attacking the senses through text, light, music, sound and movement all worked in conjunction, putting the audience in the thick of the action.
